Initial Configuration & Recommended Settings

After installing Link Whisper Premium, use the V4 setup wizard and the reorganized Settings screen to configure scanning, content scope, linking behavior, AI, and troubleshooting options.

Recommended First Steps

Activate your license in Link Whisper → Settings → Licensing.
Open Link Whisper → One Click Setup.
Review your Money Pages.
Connect Google Search Console if you want search-keyword data. You can skip this step.
Choose Scan Site for the initial reports, or Scan & Link Site when you are ready to use the AI linking workflow.

Current Settings Sections

Open Link Whisper → Settings. V4 groups settings into these sections:

General: language, scan behavior, and general link preferences.
Content Scope: post types, ignored content, HTML areas, custom fields, and builder exclusions.
Domains & URLs: domain rules, URL behavior, and internal or external link handling.
Linking Rules: suggestion targeting, anchor text, auto-linking, link icons, and link output.
AI: Link Whisper AI connection, AI processing actions, AI-powered suggestions, and AI thresholds.
Advanced: background jobs, report behavior, broken-link processing, and performance controls.

Run Your First Scan

Open Link Whisper → Dashboard.
Click Run Scan.
Review the link and keyword scan progress.
When the data is ready, review the Site Health section and the report links from the Dashboard.

The Dashboard scan refreshes link and target-keyword data together. Google Search Console is optional.

Configure AI Features

Open Link Whisper → Settings → AI.
Connect Link Whisper AI through the AI Subscription workflow.
Enable Use AI-Powered Suggestions if you want AI-powered matching.
Choose the relevant options under AI Processing Actions to Perform.
Save the settings, then run the required scan or AI processing.

AI features use Link Whisper AI credits. Check balance and usage in Link Whisper → AI Subscription. Do not add a personal OpenAI API key.

Content and Linking Recommendations

Use Content Scope to include the post types and content that should be scanned.
Use Linking Rules to control anchors, limits, and link behavior.
Use Auto-Linking for rules that should apply to existing and new content.
Use Target Keywords and Google Search Console data when you want keyword-focused workflows.

Important V4 Notes

There is no current minimum page-word-count setting. Do not look for the old Settings → Post Selection instruction.
AI credits can be used for suggestions, broken-link fixes, orphan-post fixes, and link-quality improvements.
Supported background scans and fixes can continue while you work. Return to the Dashboard or relevant report to review progress.
Use Link Whisper → Broken Links Report for broken-link scanning, review, and fixes.

If You Need to Change Settings Later

Change one group of settings at a time, save the settings, and run a focused scan or review the affected report. If a setting is unclear, contact support with the setting name, your site URL, and a screenshot. Never send a password or API key.
